Multicolored - how to

I'm creating a title sequence that uses a typewriter-style font and want to have different colors on each letter of the title. Ideally, I would like to be able to specify each individual color but it would be okay if I could just define a set of colors that would be randomly applied. Does anyone have a scene I could look at as a model or some pointers? I had seen a multicolor texture in a file somewhere at one point but can;t seem to locate it.
Thanks for any help.

Just use a Mograph multishader along with a random effector.
Change the seed value to randomize the color placement.
