Would obviously need to be rendered differently, but simulation-wise...

This was done with 1.7. Just to avoid confusion.

Yes, sorry, forgot to mention.
Done in 1.7 for a tutorial.

Hi Samir,

would a sand particle simulation in Dpit work with the viscosity settings for example? Can viscosity be applied to a particle swarm?

Something like this:

cheers

Hi zeden,

yep you can apply it spatially & temporally however you want, with any "strength" you want. No problem. You can define the viscosity for each particle. That already works in v1.7 btw (v2.0 just improves on this).

Looks nice although it probably does not exhibit the correct sand friction forces from what I can see....yeah picky guy here ;-D

Nice, but I'm thinking of a thin-walled, crystal wine glass. Transparent crystal.

That's why I mentioned that it would need to be rendered differently. Rendering is not Effex, that's a C4D material thing. The glass could be any thickness/shape in this example.

Appreciate the time taken in posting. But it doesn't look like right. Ignoring the textures - the tiny ripple structure and reflections (while maybe correct for some simulation) look out of scale. Along with that it seems to have a higher viscosity that you'd expect from wine and no apparent surface tension, so it looks like is holding itself away from the sides of the container rather than clinging. Probably doesn't help going straight down into an upright glass ie. pouring onto the side of a tipped glass would be more of what you'd expect to see.

Don't want to crit the effort that went into it - but as a convincing wine pour was requested I don't think that was it.

The video he posted is one from his tutorial on pouring liquid into a glass. The original purpose was to show that liquid doesn't penetrate the container. It doesn't have surface tension because v1.7 didn't have it, but according to Samir's video he posted on youtube surface tension looks to be in v2.0.

A convincing wine pour was requested - not any liquid into a container.

I can do a hardware render of a wine pouring in v2.0 when I find the time.

Anyway, we are officially announcing the Grace period to end on 31st of March 2013!

Just posted another movie... And though it's not a wine glass pouring I thought it fit considering the wine glass and pouring discussion...

Preview Page

Have fun.

Does this mean v2.0 will be arriving in the beginning of April?
