Hi,

Do you plan to upgrade the software to pass through the plane axis and intermediate point attributes of the original text object?

At the moment I have no control over the makeup of the splines resolution.

Thanks,

Hi,
I could do this, but you can already access the original Text spline and edit it at any time. You don't have to convert the Text spline before your group it with the Kerning object.

Very nice indeed. I've been off 3D for a few months now and it's little things like this that make me excited about getting back to it, hopefully sooner rather than later. Does that make me a 3D nerd? Yes it does. Thank the stars!

I must be missing something here.
To help I have attached a c4d (R13) file as a sample, and a jpeg.

The 'Kerned' version has the intermediate points of the spline set to uniform and 1, which results in a low res spline, but this is not being reflected once it is passed through the Kerning plugin.

The 'Not Kerned' version is just the spline with the intermediate points of the spline set to uniform and 1. This is what I would expect to see….but with the kerning added.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi,

now I get it. Just fixed this bug. There was also another issue preventing the Kerning object to be rendered correctly in the Picture Viewer.
The plugin now works a little different. You have to link the Text spline through the Kerning dialog. No need to group Kerning object and Text spline any more. This allows to use more than 1 Kerning object per ExtrudeNURBS.
Just reload the plugin from my website to get the updated version.
Thanks for your input!

Arndt,

Much appreciated change. This is much improved.

Couple more items would make it perfect for me.

1. Can you find a way to automatically make the plugin update when a change is made to the original spline? If not maybe a refresh command… At the moment, I make a change, and then have to make a change in your plugin settings to get your plugin to update.

2. Also reflect the choice of Plane chosen for the original spline. I guess it would work without this change, but it keeps the setup tidy.

I have included an R13 setup which has the plane in the ZY position. You can see that your plugin is not honoring this position.

Great work…

Thanks,

Hi Arndt,
same RT refresh problems on mac also.

The plugin RT refresh only works with typing the parameters via keyboard on mac.
Thats the way it works fine.

But if I increase or decrease the parameters via arrows --> no RT refresh happens!
It happens first, if I move the parent object for example.

A fix would be much nicer for the workflow!

Best regards,
Thomas
