Changing color of existing texture

I am working with a carbon fiber texture in the greyscale gorilla texture kit but I need to change the color of it. It uses a png so I can;t use the color channel. When I click on the texture tag and edit image but nothing happens. I looked into the content browser and found the file but I can't open it or copy it into photoshop. This has to be editable right? Does anyone know how? Thanks for any advice!

You can use the content browser to just copy the bitmap file to any other location on your computer or network.
Having said that, i would try to use colorize to change the bitmap.

Cheers

Another approach may be the filter shader.
