Hey Rui

Thanks!

Wondering...would it be possible to contact your customers via email when there is an update to download?

Although i check cgtalk often, I don't always have a chance, and would hate to miss important updates. Really wish more developers would do this... but thats for another thread..

Appreciate fork root is still developing. Have a fair bit of joint/quad popping and even some path swapping of the quad mesh.

@Joel
It is possible, yes. But I would have to compile all the e-mail into a mailing list. I'll do that soon.

@deepshade
The quad mesh algorithm is quite complex and deals with a lot of math. But, of course, I'm always trying to refine it and I would like to reduce that pop-iness.
The latest version is already better than the first one and I will continue to improve it.

Maybe there is some way to assign a branch ID to the mesh to stop it hopping over to other branches. Just a thought.

Still a great job Rui and understand this is not a simple thing to produce.

The ID would not fix this :-(
The algorithm is searching for closest faces and points. And, when there is movement, the closest face/point changes. It is quite hard to make it stable when there is movement involved.
But, like I said, I'm trying to improve it :-)

GREAT--thank you Rui.

(and maybe put the release number on the file/folder to keep track of which version pretty please?)

hi rui

sounds like a great plugin - i am looking at adding it to RK but was wondering if it does work with NET? or does it essentially need to be baked beforehand which negates the need for forkroot on the NET Clients?

thanks, keep up the good work!

I believe it works fine with a multi-license server.
Someone tried it and it told me that it was working fine. But, if I recall correctly, it only tried on its node, without trying to install it on other nodes.
Honestly I'm not completely sure because I have to way to test that here at home :-(
