Weight manager woes (R13)...

I have successfully mirrored the weights of the left hand side joints to the right hand side with the Auto mirror function, but when it comes to mirroring the weights of the joints right in the middle, the weight manager does nothing... I have painted weights on the left side, smoothed them out and etc., and since the smoothing function on symmetrical painting is gone and never addressed for this version, I am totally stuck... What should I do?

Any help would be wildly appreciated.

Thanx;

AJ

PS: Nice one Maxon, thanx!!!...

Did you try painting weights Symmetrically in the weight Tool?

Did you mirror your weights with the Mirror Tool?

Did you you selecting the painted side of your mesh, copy, Flip X, Merge in the Weights Manager?

Any one of those three will mirror your weights for you. The last one will require some post normalization though, but it is the easiest of the 3.

I just did a rtfm on the subject and it says:

"...Note that weights placed on the mirror axis will not be mirrored and will have to be created manually."

Can't say this is all geared toward users' convenience, but your last suggestion (copy-merge) worked out great, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to help out, thank you

Symmetrical painting was not an option because smooth is broken in that routine... Whereas it is totally incomprehensible to me why and how a fix was not issued during R13 (Not even sure if it's fixed in R14, don't have the dough to upgrade ATM...)

Thanx again man, much appreciate it...

Cheers;

AJ
