Thanks for that, I haven't seen much of the new AE built in camera solver, I've been a fan of the foundry's plugin and have wanted to see a comparison. Surprising that AE doesn't offer an option to specify a world original and alignment point, that would defeat the need for this manual fix, but great that you've shown people how to to do it.

Whats your opinion of the new CS6 camera solver so far?

I do very little to none camera tracking so I can't really compare
to other solutions (Had Syntheys some years ago but didn't do any
real jobs with it).
The AE tracker looks like an all or nothing tool as it is fully
automatic. The first test shoot I did was a kitchen table with
a similar camera move as in the example. But while there was good
paralax info, the reflections from the window on the kitchen desk
was to much for the solver and there is afaik no repair/manual way
in the tracker to solve it.

Cheers
Lennart

It's pretty good for what it is but it's fully auto and doesn't give you much control. I haven't used the Foundry Camera Tracker since I was on beta for it but I prefer it over AE's built-in camera tracker.

Thanks for that tip...
Saved me at least half an hour of head scratching.

If the zero null is supposed to be my world origin, I'm not getting that in my project after I follow your directions. The world grid isn't re-aligning to any of my AE objects.

Copy "Track Solid Zero" to outside the hierarchy.
Drag the "pre.1500 track 2" Null under the copy.
Zero out the copy.
Set x rotation to -90 degree.

Looks fine to me.

Cheers

Looks fine to me too! Thank you! I guess I was PSR zeroing out the wrong object.

For those initially confused (like I was) the Exporter from AE to C4D is offered as a plugin from Maxon.

AFX export to C4D r12

does anyone know if there is something that changed with the camera system in C4D r13 & r14 that prevents the AFX-cs6 export from being interpreted correctly in r12? cameras & scenes exported from C4D r12 are perfect in AFX but the export back to c4d r12 from AFX is always wildly off even with Lennart's trick.
