Stellar. You've a knack at creating truly useful plugins. The sorts of things I'd use almost every day, if not every project.

BTW, I'm finding Vault to be indispensable now.

Just one question:

Creating two nulls is a great way to create the "trunk." is there, or will there be a way to add intermediate nulls, or even use your own base spline as the trunk? Sorry if it's something that's already been addressed.

Have you seen the latest video, cmyk?

You can new use a spline as the guide for the main branch... or trunk :-)

Ahh, ok! I did watch it, and saw you manually pushing and pulling the main spline, I must've missed that it was custom. :smack:

Anyhow, already this seems like the best of both worlds: easy to use, and easy to control your results. And now that I know I can base the branching off a custom spline, it'll be easy enough to conform organics along tissue walls, etc.

I especially like how you implemented noise to make it twitch. Not sure if there's any other branching system that will do that. Tesla, here I come...

Now, if you can make a plugin that will amp up the Render Preview manager by assigning cores to different renders/scenes, simultaneously, and also a Pause Render feature.

Why can't we pause renders?!

Good news and bad news, cmyk.

The bad news are that I can't create any plugin to assign different cores to different scenes and I also can't create a plugin to pause the render. It is not possible to mess with the renderer in such a deep way.

The good news are that I have continued updating the Forkroot plugin and that I already have a pretty good idea in how to make a quad mesh for Forkroot but I will not have the time to implement it right now.

I've heard as much from a few other c4d developers in this here community. I was more pining, than requesting, in a half-joking manner... But you never know, since Maxon's overhauled their render engine, last time I inquired.

I just monkey with the dials, I have no idea how it all works on the inside. Could be leprechauns for all I know. ;^)

Was reading an article about Tesla and this was linked to it.
Nice reference for lightning - just thought I'd drop it in

Wondering if i could make another suggestion.

Would there be a way for the branches to adhere or deform to an uneven surface, and perhaps one that is changing or growing?

I can see this plug being very useful (among other things) for depicting angiogenesis, in which blood vessels would grow onto the surface of either a "lumpy" tumor mass, and/or individual clumps of a growing tumor cell mass.

I've achieved this sort of thing by projecting an invisible plane onto the mass of dynamicly grown cancer cells via the mesh deformer and then adhering my splines to the surface of that invisible mesh.

(hope this makes sense!)

Anyway if this sort of thing could be done--that would be great.

Not an easy task, but I will look into it.

Hi!

It´s an honor for me that you´ll use the name I came up with! thanks! Hope it´s not a trademark anywhere already
Another question: how about a "curl" function for the branches, so that they look more
"beautiful" & spiral-like, not like a random root or lightning? Would that be difficult to implement?

Cheers,
Squirrel

A "curly branch" tool will also be made but it will be an independent object.
