FYI - this links to your other plugin "Coordinates Display".

Yeah, I know. I just copy/pasted the html from Coordinates Dislay and forgot to update the download link.
Anyway, the only way to get the Vault object, for now, is to buy it :-)
I'm finishing adding some stuff to it and I will update the download link as soon as I finish.
But, the download link will only be useful for the ones who bought the plugin as it needs a registration file.

Here is a link to the updated manual, reporting all the changes and additions:

If I have the time, tomorrow I will update the download page of the new Vault (tomorrow I'll be out most of the time, on a birthday party).

I found the time to update the page.
So, everyone who bought Vault can now download the latest version, here:

Thumbs up

I just want to say, this is such a performance booster!

Just in the day or two I've been using it, I've been fearlessly exploring permutations and edits to objects, adding them to the vault, collapsing primitives, then swapping them back to its primitive state if I need to adjust its parameters, and back to the vault to collapse again, or make an incremented version.

It's an integrated, object-level version control, is what it really is. Huge boost to workflow, and almost little to no time to re-set your habits.

Really nice work on this one, Rui. I really recommend it for everyone. Keep improving this gem.

How is this different from using a layer to get this result??

  08 August 2012
It creates backups of your objects at any interval you wish. It can also create incremental versions to go back to, and swap out, on the fly.

I don't think the video he has up shows the new features he was able to integrate since all the suggestions here in the other thread, which really made this plugin far more useful than just a simple backup.

Hey Rui, I am already using Vault intensly. It is great. One thing I found out. If you put an instance-object to Vault and make it editable, the Vault-Tag disappears and the Link is broken.
Could that be fixed? It would be great if you can keep an Instance-Version of an Object.

Also I want to add an Idea. It would be great to be able to get a list of all Incremental saves of an object to go to an earlier version very fast. So something like load "incremental Version". Also I would like an option "Kill old versions" that deletes all old Incremental Saves and keeps only the news Version. Maybe even an option to specify a Rage to delete Version 1-20 for example?

keep going....Great Plugins you make. Holger

The instance issue is not very easy to fix. Because, as soon as you turn an instance editable, it is replaced by a copy of the original object. So, the Vault-Link tag just goes away (the original object doesn't have a Vault-Link tag).

As for the list of Incremental saves, you mean a list in the Vault-Link object where we could select a previous state and press a button to revert the current object to that state?

Oh..ok I understand. So someone would need to script a make Editable which reasigns the Tag I guess?

I imagine this Like a button or Puldownmenu in the Vault Tag where you can choose any Version of this object. The delete old Versions Buton could be in the Vault tag to delete only Versions of this Object as well as in the Vault Object to delete the History of all Objects inside the Vaultobject.

As soon as I have a spare time I will investigate that incremental history list option.
