fracture object frustration subject
I'm running into a little problem. I did the following:
-made a plane
-triangulate the plane
-disconnect all faces with preserve groups off
-extruded all faces with again preserve groups off
-made a selectiontag of the top faces
-asigned 2 shaders with one of them the selectiontag as selection (to have different color for top and sides)
-put the plane under a fractureobject
-set the fractureobject to 'explode segments'
-applied a random effector to the fracture-object with a spherical fall-off, and activate some rotation and slight y-position
Well it works: the 'tiles' come out a bit and show the sides in a nice random fashion. Now I also add a displacer to the plane and my computer starts to crawl, and the whole thing gets invisible. When i turn the fracture-object back to straight, and then again back to explode segments (and wait a few seconds), it's visible again... It feels like a bug, but maybe i'm missing one freakin setting, that makes it so slow to update? BTW it also happens without the displacer, sometimes (it seems randomly) the whole shabamm just dissapears. As soon as i'm back in 'explode segments mode' the random effector updates superfast again
hope someone can help me out (and hoping i explained myself well enough )

I have a very similar issue. About 30K objects within a fracture object - 5 regular spheres, the rest instances - and for some reason all the instances are invisible, but the headlights are all grey. The original spheres remain visible.
When I switch fracture modes, everything becomes visible, but once I move my mouse & click on one of the instances, everything becomes invisible again.
