Smile I believe this is the release version of Coordinates Display tag

Here is yet another video showing the current state of Coordinates Display Tag.
I added a way to make coordinates visible in the render.
For that effect, I created a new type of object that works with Coordinates Display Tag be can also work all by itself.
This video explains it all:

The bad news are that this will make the plugin just a little more expensive. Instead of €6, it will be €10. But... hey!! You get a tag and a new object ;-)
Tell me what you guys think.

Very cool and very useful for all types of techy data visualisation stuff. I will buy it for sure. When do you plan to release it?

Cheers
Simon

edit: I just saw that it's already released. So i will order it tomorrow when i'm back in the office ;-)

Wondering if it's possible to lock the coordinates to align with the camera plane. I usually do this with the constraints tag linking to the camera rotation to insure text is flush with the camera frame and not angled or bowed in in any way. Us cg folks are never content

As long as people have the Character module, of course it is possible :-)
Also, to work it also needs to have a camera that is an object, not the virtual editor camera.
But I will look into it ;-)

Know what?
I guess I just fixed it :-)
And it requires no Character module.
Just download this file, unzip it and replace the PointSpliner.pype file you have in the PointSpliner folder with this one.
Let me know if it works.

HEy Rui

Just to make your life more difficult--I thought I'd let you know that the align to camera function works fine, UNLESS the camera is a child of a null. The text no longer points towards camera if so.

Sometimes I will set up a camera rig where the null moves or roates the camera within the heirarchy. Just thought I'd let you know. Could always just revert to the constraints tag if its a pain to fix.

(this could be an issue with the look at camera tag itself)

Thanks Rui

I'm also noticing that although the text appears to stay aligned while moving the camera/or object in the editor, but when rendered, the text sometimes does not align.

Here is a rendered QT which shows the text not updating to be aligned to camera, and attached is an image showing the last frame as seen in the editor window--with the text behaving as it should.

Quicktime test

Ok, I fixed it (damn! I'm good!! ;-))
Could you check out this version with your file to see if it all goes well now.

There still seems to be a problem with the updating of the objects rotation while rendering.
I'll have to dig deeper into this.
But, at least, in the editor, it all shows well, even if the camera is deep inside a hierarchy.
