Make a MoSpline out of an Edge Selection?

Any ideas how to create a spline/mospline out of an edge selection? Seems like it should be easy, but my brain is blank...

Select the Edge, Shift + C > Edge to Spline

A user cannot run Edge to Spline on an Edge Selection Tag. The user would have to Make Editable first on the object, which is not desirable.

You are welcome to experiment on my sample project.

You "might" be able to put that setup in a correction deformer and then manually select your edges from that. C4D is chugging now so cant test. The correction deformer lets you turn paramteric/generated stuff into geeometry while still retaining the paramteric aspexct. I think.

Easy peasy...

So, all you have to do is the following:

1. Make a straight editable spline segment aligned on it's Y axis
2. Make a Cloner and set that spline segment as a child
3. Set the cloner to Object mode, drag in the Voronoi and drag the edge selection into the "Selection" link
4. Make the offset 50% (as the Axis of the segment is in the middle of it's length), and the Edge scale 100%
(Now you have lines on each edge)
5. Put your cloner under a Connect Object
6. Make an instance of the Connect Object
7. Drag the instance in the MoSpline...

See? Easy Peasy :-)

p.s. Dunno if it works for what you need, as all segments seem to be disconnected, but... hey, I did what you asked for :-)

p.s.2 It also suffers from priority issues... oh my!

Impressive as ever! That's a phenomenal solution!

How does the Connect Instance work in the MoSpline when the Connect object doesn't? I would have never thought to do that... ever!

One more thing in your arsenal for experimentation... if it ain't working, put it under a connect object... if that ain't working, make it an instance... and if that fails, post here and we'll sort ya out :-)

I think this forum's collective genius is getting too much to handle.
Maybe I'll start offering Greek recipe tutorials instead... interested in Moussaka anyone?
