NVidia RTX/GameWorks Realtime Raytracing Demo Video

In case anybody missed this, this is what future 3D software viewports may look like - no more working in OpenGL:

I personally expect that AMD will have something just like this very soon as well.

The days when one worked on CG 3D projects with only a relatively simple OpenGL preview or IPR may be numbered.

AMD has announced something similar. Interesting times ahead.

I see 4 companies capable of doing this in the short run, because they all have notable realtime raytracing R&D behind them:

Nvidia, AMD, Imagination, Intel. Would be nice if 3 or 4 small companies join as well.

Is brigade a GPU renderer? I know that it uses multiple networked computers - possibly a lot - to realtime raytrace.

That's a nice solution if you are making a Hollywood film, but the promise of GPU realtime raytracing is that it essentially happens on 1 GPU.

I like the Brigade demos I've seen so far. Just don't know if they'll be in the GPU realtime raytracing space.

The more competitors there are, the merrier.
