character animation - press 7 to adjust

Ok.. I got to ask.. why is the "7" key used to adjust a character object component? Also, why there is no documentation of said shortcut? (In Maya is the insert key for adjusting bones, which is logical because you use insert to adjust pivot points).

Its just seems strange from a software who has a really good reputation for clever UI and intuitiveness.

Pressing 7 is a general key and not only tied to character animation.
Basically, by pressing 7, you can move a parent without moving the children too. Pretty nifty workflow.
