Jellyfish Texturing and Lightning

Hey guys,

I need your help texturing this jellyfish from the following tutorial: http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutori...so-in-CINEMA-4D

And I want to get this final result

It looks like you are most of the way there!

I don't have Cinema 4D (or know how to use it ) but I think the main thing your render is missing, is reflections! You may need to turn raytracing on? Maybe they used image based lighting (HDRI/IBL) in the tutorial?

The only other thing is to correct the brightness a bit in Photoshop, to get your jellyfish looking whiter.

Reflections definitely would help a lot.
Also your model is completely transparent on areas which face the camera, whereas your reference material is slightly more opaque there.
Try adding more detail to the body. Your reference is very wrinkly and wavy and stuff, which gives it a lot more depth in conjunction with the falloff-shader.
Try including more colors in your shader. Your reference's colors transition from teal to dark blue, while your shader's colors look pretty uniform.
