Texturing smoothed (3 mode in Maya) objects?
Hey guys. I'm having an issue with texturing smoothed objects and I'm really not finding any information online that is working.
Basically I've laid out UV's for a lot of my objects that are unsmoothed, but after adding holding edges, I smooth them. This messes up the texture completely, and I was wondering what I'm supposed to do to get it to work properly?
Am I supposed to only texture things with the smoothed UV's? And if so, how? Because they are so distorted I don't get how I could go into something like photoshop and work with bent UV's like that.
I tried turning off UV smoothing in the object settings and that doesn't really do anything.

Not sure what to do here. Should I just use bevel in this scenario instead of smoothing?
