Beginner problems with UV mapping

I am currently doing the "Introduction for maya 2014" tutorial from Digital Tutors. I am currently trying to UV map the ship but i am having a slight problem.

As you see from the attached image the map is slighty deformed. Its smaller on left side of the ship than right. I have tried the "Unfold selected UV's" button already wich didnt do anything.

As a beginner i dont yet have that many ideas what could help. It probably is something very simple but i just dont seem to get it.

So i humbly come to you and ask for abit of assistance.

Thank you.

It looks like you need to relax the UVs. Select them in UV mode and choose the Relax option - that should fix it at least somewhat.
