Problem with uvw unwrap

Hi everybody

I'm modeling a room in 3ds max and I'm having a serious problem with the uvw unwrapping. I'm fighting to fix it, but I can't find how.

The model is a piece of furniture. It's very simple, just a box converted to poly, with some extrudes and connects. I don't remember, but I think I didnt use symmetry with this one, but if I did I collapsed all.

I've used the unwrap uvw modifier, with flatten mapping (but it also happens without flatten) I get all the pieces as usual. Then I try to put them together, the front face with the sides, but when I select the seam and use stitch, it gets crazy.

The edges are ok, uvws are not flipped. When I check with show vertex connections, the vertices are ok. If I select just a pair of vertices and use "weld" or "stitch" it works, I could weld all the seam joining vertices this way, but when I try to select several vertices or edges and I use stitch... it doesnt work. It welds 3 vertices in one....

I also checked the model, the mesh is fine.

I never had this problem before and I'm getting mad. Could you help me please? :(

Mind if you post up the file so we can check what's wrong? Not really getting a clear idea of the problem from the screenshots :x

This is the file:

The unwrap is unfinished, but in the picture you can see the frontal and both sides. The problem happens when I try to stich the seam at the corners (where the frontal connects with the sides). I select one edge -> loop -> stitch -> crazy vertex!! D:

Luckily it doesnt happen with the all the furniture, just this chest of drawers and a nightstand.

Why it happens and how can I solve it?

what version of 3dsmax are you using? Can't open this at work, so will open it at home later

Hey, checked out the file, I think I see what you mean. It's probably because it's a corner (where in reality the vertices are actually welded together on the model) therefore the 'crazy vertex'. One question though, I don't think you really need those vertices to be welded right? The seam there will be hidden anyway. The unwrapping looks fine to me so far Do correct me if I'm getting your question wrong tho keke
