MARI UV conundrum

I don't understand how to get separate OBJs and their respective channels to show their UVs together in as they do in Maya. e.g. If I select multiple objects in Maya, the UV Layout window will show all the UVs for these objects together at one time.

I thought that older versions that creating a shader allowed the connection of different channels--which then allowed a way to view and export multiple UV sets (per OBJ--but I'm not finding it's equivalent in 2.0. I'd love an explanation of how to accomplish this if it's possible. I'm simply wanting to export a patch with all the separate UVs on it, not a bunch of maps with piece-part UVs.

Is the only work-around is to combine all my objects into a single OBJ?

You can only have one object active and paintable at one time. This inludes displaying UVs. Work around is to merge the objects as one.
