Light bulb scene

Hey guys,

I was wondering how to achieve the glowing of a light bulb like in the image attached with 3ds Max and Vray.
I've been going through pages and pages of google with no good results - might be that I typed the wrong keywords.

Thank you gentlemen :-)

This is probably most easily controlled in post. You can slave away doing test renders, or nail it in a few minutes in Photoshop.

Hey thanks for your reply! :-)
I forgot to mention that I would like to animate the whole thing. Is it still the best thing to do it in AE or so?

Thanks!

hey YH11, to achieve this effect you can just use vraylenseffect: more info here http://www.mattguetta.com/2011/10/04/vraylenseffect-par-alfa-smyrna/#!prettyPhoto

heres a quick render i just did to show the results i got from it.
