Great good movie The 3 days of the condor, with a very good final.
Beautiful anatomical studies.

Hey,

I'm just loving those cartoons. I'm finding out I'm sort of a cartoonist myself - I always thought illustrator - so I like to see exaggerated characters.

The James Bond is great.

In the helicopter - the Snowman... who probably throws his hat..... and impassively breaks his arm.

Anyway.

3 days - the whole concept of a pulp noir - Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler - in the 70s led to some awkward contexts. I'm learning the genre, but a boldly plain note found on the mailman seemed kind of like a "pulp" mechanism.

But I think they were in transition making this film, post-60s, to a more political thriller. A noir served as a vehicle, with Redford aping it out for the benefit of the cause. He got called for bad acting, but I think it was more likely exuberant on-screen activism.

Again, I'm learning these things - like a lot of things, it seems - but as a political thriller, I thought it had enough depth to make a recognized film, as it is.

I agree. The ending left food for thought.

These wavy drawings of mine are taking a lot longer than I hoped. I'm surprised. I have maybe 9 more, then other stuff.

I keep leaving long messages.

I'll keep checking in to the latest on your trio, or quartet... whoever is in it.

Thanks for the comment.

Ok. That is it for list of leg muscles. Got to the end. And I'm happy about that. I didnt expect the time involved. Seemed to need it.

On to other things.

I agree the turnaround foot is really well done.

Woof.

Some of those toes are downright interesting. Hobbit feet. Nobody here's a Hobbit, right? It's why I'm practicing these. Still stuff to learn. The aspects are just complicated.

STFVIT, grafik and nkirill. Thanks! Glad you think so. I grumble about my drawing, but....

Learning feet is good, as....

I always draw legs from the top down and they tend to end up in a directionless and perplexed conundrum. Sooner I get a road map, the better.

Posting.

When I see all those studies... I realize how terrible I am at anatomy and that I should study a lot more !
Thank you for sharing your work, it is really inspiring.

Lammakian,

It's for a purpose.

But, talking to other people here, I'm starting to wonder what really works.

If it's really necessary to do these studies.

I might be old school, where you learn things from textbooks that have line drawings. So I think I should.

With the net, now there are all sorts of poses and life models to copy and art methods to emulate.

I'm starting to think doing those instead is enough.

If we recognize people personally by appearance or attitude or voice, without really knowing their bone structure, or psychoanalysing or voice box, why wouldn't a capable drawing of a given subject be just as valid without all the textbook anatomy?

It's a new question to me, so I don't have an answer.

The idea is, to draw a given character, gender, role, get poses, examples, character models and learn what they look like.

Without the technical study.

I don't know.

This is probably bad form or even backhanded, though I can't analyze why, but-

To be quite blunt, I'm doing all these to be able to do what you're doing.

Yep.

I don't have one image in my thread that's similar.

All I said above may sound critical of your method, but if you've indicated that you haven't gone to all the trouble with anatomy, then again quite frankly, your drawings/images still work great.

So what I'm doing here just might be preoccupied scribbling when I should just be making my next image.

I'm not sure.
