jet modeling need help

hello friends CG,

I am trying to model a jet, as you can see the wheel I worked on it a lot still has to put some wires.
I have a big problem in polygonal modeling, can not achieve a good result. Use 3DS MAX 2013

sorry my english (google translator)

maybe try splines

what you have done so far looks good so Im not sure what your asking but if you mean you need to place some wire's and cables on the model , have a try doing it with splines but turn on "Enable in render" and "enable in viewport" you will find this option in the top tab "rendering" , I hope this was some help to you

Nice look so far.

I think you should get rid of the 2 triangles, just do a cut from one corner of the triangle to the other one, so that you have rectangles again. If you are doing polygon modelling, alway try to use rectangles, you can get really annoying deformations if you are using n-gons. Sure there are exceptions when you can use n-gons, but not very often. Another tip as well, try to start with less polygons as possible getting the overall form right and then for getting more into detail, you can do cuts and other things to create more polygons for defining the details.

Hope that helps

mystery

friend so I'm trying to figure it out ... need to practice this kind of modeling, but can not achieve a result "acceptable" to continue modeling the jet.

Anna thanks for the tip, I'll practice with them. I was following the lines of the blueprint.

very nice , maybe make the basic shape with splines then turn it into a ploy object ?
I'm not sure as i dont make jet planes but i did make a sports car this way in the past.

good, I'll try that way, so I must get around the jet with the line and then turning into an object?

yes you make the cage of the object then add a surface to it..
this video may help you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkuBH35SC9Q
