Semi-Real Teenage character

Hi,

I would like some feedbacks on my mesh.

I try to realize a semi-stylized teenager around 13 years old. I would like to know if my proportions are good or I miss something.

Only the modeling. I use arnold render in Softimage but the llights, the shaders nothing final, so I just focus on my mesh.

He looks too young, more like 6-7 years old.
Not sure how stylised you are going for but the large head size and lack of sharp features is making him look too young. Also, I know you said no shader comments, but your sss is way too deep and is drowning out any features making him look even younger.

Aesthetically speaking the mouth is too straight lined. Fill the lips a bit more and give the gap between the lips some of that subtle "M" shape.
The eyes are too far apart, like about 1.5 eye widths apart. Try bring them closer to 1 eye width apart.

I also think it looks too young, the typical soft jelly baby look kids have before their bodies start to develop teenage shapes.

Are you using any resource footage?

If I were to make an semi - reel char I would start with the reel part, model an character close to the footage i have. Once it has the basic shape feel free to sculpt arround.

13 year olds are in body build closer to adult people, adding some more muscle in him ever so slightly would make him stand out more. Make him be there.

I would give him sameller eyes. I understand you want to go semi-reel, and alot of non-reel char have really big eyes. In your case it just makes him look young, like previous artists mentioned.

Enlarging his head would help, like Pap87 mentioned.

Perhaps giving him some eyebrow-flesh ( couldn't think of a word to describe it). It would give his face more relief.

That's ofcourse all my idea, it's your project. Your work.

Thanks guys for your comments. Clearly after a night of sleep I woke up this morning and revisit him.

Too young, your right. 12-13 years old I base him on Harry Potter One year students. But I try to erase many lines for making him look more stylized. Look younger I totally agree now.

I'm pretty sure to have lock the size. It's just the head to fix:

I correct some parts, but I feel losing the style.
