The Legendary Drizzt Do'urden

Hi every one. I'm working on a 3D still image created in Maya and Zbrush (For the first time), creating everything from scratch. The concept is the legendary Drizzt Do'Urden riding a hydra as he enters the forgotten realms of the Underdark after being on the surface for quite a while.

I started by looking for armor references and did some sketching.

I have a pretty good idea how the hydra will look like so the next thing I wanted to finish was the concept for the scene.

Started sculpting the body and from there I would extract armor pieces and clothing. Not spending too much time on the body since hardly anything of it will be seen.

Decided to go with the spiky armor, seemed to fit the dark elves.

Added hair and worked little more on the armor.

A little update, almost finished sculpting the face and testing out polypainting for quick render.

And here's the hydra sofar.
