Jungle Environment

Hello, heard this was a great place to get feedback so here I am.

So this first project is to make a maya scene of an image for a class of mine, the image we were given was by Jonas Skoog.

I am in the environment group, my personal tasks are to make the surrounding environment, excluding the ground, stump, and stone face in the photo.
Here is my first run through;

Newest update, changed a bit of the lighting and fog in the render, as well added/moved some of the foliage around.

Comments and critiques please!

Here is the Final Image when the project was finished. I'd like to say again that I did the back ground, fog effects, and lighting. So I would greatly appreciate any critiques or suggestions for said areas.

Hey man,

Are you trying to recreate the image as close as possible? It looks a little dark.

Its hard to offer feedback on this because you haven't really provided a very detailed description of what its for. Is there going to be a character added?

I should have been more specific for the goals of this, to clarify;

The setting or mood was the goal of this. There is nothing more going into this than just an image/turn around at best.

I spoke to the original artist and the general feel was spot on for what he was hoping to do for a proper background before he had run out of time.

I do agree it needs another light and have been tinkering with that as well.

Lastly there is no character for this, just the environment.

Another light would help brighten it up, but perhaps even better, add a bit more rim light to the stone face on the ground if positioned to do so, helping pull it out of the environment - adding depth to the scene.
