Torn - Angel Character

Hi everyone, this a model that I have been working on for far too long and would like to get some feedback. I am modelling this as a practice piece to work in Mudbox for the first time. This is the base mesh model without any sculpting. I was hoping to get any proportion/design issues cleared up before I dive headfirst into sculpting. I have been working on this project in a slightly different manner than I usually do, and have let the character design evolve away from my original turn around. If I got a little too "off the wall" in any areas please let me know so that I can correct them. I hope to add this to piece to my portfolio once it is done, so I don't want to spend many hours on something that ends up looking goofy. Any additional advice/critique is obviously welcome and appreciated.

I tweaked the sword so that the runes look more curved. I think this fits with the overall style of the character better.

Hey guys these are the color mock-ups of the character. I am extremely bad with color schemes, so any suggestions would be welcome. The story for the character is that he is an angelic warrior that has been cast out of heaven for siding with humans against his god. After his fall from grace he is Torn between hating/blaming the humans for his situation and his original compassion towards them that was strong enough have him speak out against his god.

So the gist of it is that he is a pure character who has recently become twisted and much darker. Any suggestions as to how I can convey this through the color scheme as well as the structure of his armor would be much appreciated.
