WIP Female Character

I found this concept for a character that I want to create. I am not to sure how make this because I found if off of Google images.

I really want to recreate this image in Maya so that I can set her on fire and make her walk. This is what I have for the modeling so far.

I know that I still have a ways to go before the character body will look like the on in the concept. But I was hoping the you guys would give me some Critique on how to make her look like the concept for the figure/body type.

The arms are not straight - there is an odd ankle from forearme to hand.
Also, do you plan on rigging her or do you just want to pose her like in the concept? If you would like to rig her you would be better of making the legs straight (if you want her for animation). It seems to me like you are following that one DT tutorial where they create a girl - I did that myself too and tried to rig her - but her feet won't plant nicely on the ground when being in this pose.
You should also look careful where the highlights are in the concept, they indicate the detail of the girl. You have still some modelling to do but good start so far. Keep on!

How will u make the fire effect, will u be using maya fluid, or some new plugins like Exocortex Fury with maya particles or nparticles or Phoenix FD for Maya using Vray.

Not bad, don't forget to fix the hardness of the face normals on the upper legs.

I am planning on rigging her so that I can animate a walk cycle for her. Was thinking about doing the walk cycle like Jessica Rabbit. I did follow the tutorial in digital tutors Modeling a female character for animation. From following the tutorial I can see how it will be hard to get the rigg to work right.

For the flames I was thinking about using the fluids in Maya. I was also going to be adding some more transparency to the shadder and also be adding in some animated textures to make it look like she is created comply out of fire. I never thought about using vray to make the flames in Maya. I thought that vray was only for lighting. And for the other ones I have never heard about them before, but I will look into it to see which ones will make the better flames

Thanks for all the helpful critiques. They are a big help.

this tutorial of DT is good but not excellent - good for a start but in the end it was not satisfying for me. As I mentioned, change the legs for easier rigging. you might not want to have to rotate the joints as much.

Also look at this Antony Wards homepage, exspecially at this (this picture under 6 is very useful)
http://ant-online.co.uk/tutorials/c...dels-for-games/

and here he is sharing a really well modelled women - with great definitions of the muscles:

Update

It been a while since I posted an update on my progress for my character. I got to the point where I am happy with the model for the character, and now I am starting to add the effects to her. THis is what I have gotten so far.
