Hyperion Loader WIP

Borderlands is hands down just a big bucket of awesome sauce, so this is a sort of tribute to the fantastic work that went into that game. It's also a great way to improve my modeling, texturing, lighting, etc. All work thus far has been done in Maya, any and all feedback is appreciated!

Here are some better and updated shots. I still require a few additions, mainly at the hip joints. Some other minor pieces also arenít duplicated in these shots. Tomorrow Iím going to start refining and condensing my geometry.

Heya Fox!

You're modelling detail is looking top notch. I don't own BL2 personally, but I have played it and its great fun. I love the personality of the game and its characters, it had me laughing a number of times.

I found this version of the loader, which is pretty much the same as what you have with a few weapons added on to it. If you have time, I suggest trying to add the gun, shield and missile launchers. The small details in those items will really help to showcase your modelling skills, and with the grungy texture added to it, ohhhhhh baby!

You're definitely right Kori! I'll start modelling those props as soon as I get the finishing touches done on the main model. The main issue I've had so far was finding good and consistent reference. There are a bunch of different loaders in the game, most of which have all these different kinds of plating, or subtle changes in their structure. It drove me nuts while I was looking, especially since I'm trying to achieve a functional and realistic model! I nearly had an aneurism when I found the official Borderlands 2 Art Dump on Polycount.

I'm very excited to start texturing this model. There is so much opportunity and potential here.
