Red face tropical fish - sychinropus splendidus

Hi guys,
I was starting this new personal project to improve myself with new skill... during this step I learn MARI, infact this is my frist project with that... but I used to fix better in the end the texture PS... welll i'm still working on texturing especially for Alpha
so this is my situation right now


sychinropus splendidus is the name of fish! that is a render without any kind of comp.
like I said it is a wip, i'm working on alpha map and my shading right now... i think also is one of my frist use of SSS... and I building something like this... obliuvisly like you can see i'm preparing to work in comp after(with writecolortobuffer)!



I've try to archive BRDF reflection in that...

So... next step is fix alpha_map
give something better with light (maybe additional IBL)
give a new postion with a fast rig
and... layering
AO+Mv2d+Zdepth+other channel with this shader (diffuse front mid back spec)
comp
and finish!

so what do you thing right now? any suggest for lighting or other stuff (i'm newbie i know!)

Looks pretty good so far.

If your mesh is a contained volume, sometimes you can use the mr volume shaders to get a nice scattered light effect.

i'm working on alpha but there is some bug in that or i din't understand why some time cut nice gemotry and other time no


i turn on the red only to show you the correct proportion of UV, i mean i'm sure the cut border with black... the semi transparency work fine but don't cut correctly the edge how you can se... works better for the "tail" of fish

This could be a large number of things. Are you using an image with an alpha for transparency, or a separate RGB image? If your just using a black and white RGB transparency map, you need to turn on Alpha is Luminance in the file node.

yes i know, i've just do that... infact for semitrarparency works and also for the last part of fish...!! but no there, i'm MB_TRASPARENCY
