Help with Viking Model

Hi guys, I'm currently learning 3D modelling and animation at Capilano University. I do not have much experience with modeling (properly, anyway), and I'm currently thinking of working towards animation. That said, I'm modelling this character for a personal project that I hope to work on, and I know I definitely need some critique.

I have spent some time on the site, but I haven't sunk my teeth in too far, so please let me know if there's somewhere else I should be looking or posting.

For the hand I used an existing mesh and added more knobbly knuckles and fingernails, where as with the head I used a very basic sculpt in ZBrush, then retopologized. I ended up going back to ZB just to push things around a little, which is definitely something I would do differently next time. I'm absolutely sure I have done the ears wrong, and same goes for the back edge of the nostrils.

Any and all comments are welcome!

Here's an update:

I simplified some area around the ear and did a quick paint and texture. I would like to model more props and redo his proportions.

I'll update again soon when I have his other props modelled!
