Nikola Tesla

Hi there,

this is my latest model of Nikola Tesla. My intention was to make portret from the photo of him but in artistic way. For modeling and sculpting I have used zbrush, 3ds max hair and fur, vray for rendering and photoshop for composing.
I hope you like it. Please do comment.

Cheers

The character head looks good, but the clothings can improve a lot. The chest is too forward, shoulder seems too big, & the collars can be much improved.

I love the feel of the render in this one! Don't agree with PKD about much improvement on his suite, i love the style of the suit's render, it's not photorealistic, but it does not need to be. I do agree about his anatomy comments. Still, all in all- great stuff! keep it coming!

Even the chest looks odd to me to, they are just like in the reference photo of the Tesla:

Great work Predrag!

Man, this is awesome work.

I would say the only thing that seems off to me is the chest. It looks a bit inflated.

Is that supposed to be slack in the jacket, or is he just sticking his chest out?

My comments on the clothing are not base on realism, but quality. Its not the same level with the head, realistic/artistic or not.

but this isn't the first person, & is rather common here, that people do not spend enough time on 'secondary' objects in the scene. If its an object in the far background, or took up little scene space, it would not have matter, but the jacket took up a good 1/3 of the scene space.

Maybe I am not an artist so I see things differently from the rest of the people here. As an engineer, I always look out for the problem areas first. In my line of work, the good parts cannot cover the bad part, no matter how good the good part are, every major area must be able to stand on their own.

increase the roughness in the jacket material, then it'll look more like cloth
i would also emphasize the clothy fuzzy fresnel effect, if you know what i mean
great work btw

The reference photo I can see details like the buttons and pocket more clearly than on the render. They add a level of noise you want to see in your image.

Also the more prominent wrinkles around the armpit like in the photo might make the pose more convincing.
