Assault Mech - WIP - Last Pics 06-07

Hey Everyone!

I started this mech last year, but because I ran out of freetime I put it aside. In the past few weeks I had some time, so I opened the scene again.
Here is the current state, hope you like it...

Really wonderful man, this high poly stuff is always inspiring to me

Is this something that a person would be sitting inside? Or an automated robot.

Thx.

This more like a Battletech mech, so a person will be sitting inside.
But I designed a "capsule" instead of a cockpit like in the Neon Genesis Evangelion. This version looks much more safe for the pilot... behind the heavy armor

Could somebody give me some advice how to rig the ammo belt? Or a link to a tutorial.
It has 2 fixed point and fix length, etc...
I use Softimage|XSI.

Awesome model Theo! WOW! In reply to your query ..... thıs ıs somethıng ı found on a gamıng forum....mıght help out ( I'm a Maya guy...:/ )

"XSI has both spline and tail IK solvers. You will find them under the Animate>Skeleton menu.
You can also create a chain based on a curve.

Also remember in XSI, that when you draw a skeleton chain, it automatically has IK on it, which you then drive by moving and animating the end effector. You can easily switch to FK or even blend between IK and FK, but going to the Kinematic Chain property which is under the first node of that particular chain"

ramek81: yes, I'll make a nice render (or at least I'll try ) I just finished the final ammo belt piece (didn't have freetime in the past few weeks btw) so when I figured out the rigging method for the belt, the modelling part actually will be finished.

I had some freetime so I finished the rest of the modelling. Actually maybe I'll add some cable to the joints later...
But now... Start the UV...

You say you are starting the UVs. Are you planning to unwrap the highpoly or did you end up retopping it?
