Lightbulb WIP: Key Project & Materials

Hey guys, so I'm working on projects to learn UVUnwrapping and custom materials as I need to get better somehow. So I'm starting simple so I might just start modeling everything I can find in my apartment one by one in my attempt to get better at materials. Sounds sad but my material skills are sad. Anyways thank you for your time reading and comments to help.

First off I've got a shot of what I'm trying to do with my key. The geometry is going to make a triangle and I'm trying to go with Polys as I'm more familiar with Poly modeling versus Tris. What I'm trying to create is the slanted channels in the keys where it would be inside the lock mechanism.

Here I'm showing what the earlier render looks like in my 3DSMax13StudentEdition compared to the render. It's kind of annoying as it forces me to revert the material. Versus I could work on a composite wire material in 2012.

:edit: apparently I'm having an isp issue with uploading so I might need to wait on pictures sigh. :/edit: Yay Frontier/Verizon
