Strange, if you can get a bump working displacement should show through as well. Technically bump & displacement maps are one on the same, its just how they are calculated that differs.

And in Maya, when I rendered with VRAY, the displacements were working correctly.

Ok try this (works for Mudbox 2014):

First do a vertical invert of the texture image using an image editing program like photoshop. Next import your .obj into Mudbox. High Res it (I took mine up to level 4, 5 million). Next complete the process of UV and Maps < Sculpt using Maps. Use the default settings (including selecting the layer in which your model is located in the drop down box, as well as importing your inverted map). After the operation completes, you should have a new displacement layer above your Nautiloid layer. In that displacement layer change the strength from 100 to 1000 and you should see the details on the Nautiloid.

Let me know if that worked for you!

Cheers!!

hello you have to Please upload your completed model to your CGPortfolio , and tag it "textureminichallenge". This will slowly build a gallery of entries - we'll link it later as it builds. Add the other required elements (the screen grabs) to the same project within your CGPortfolio.

I hope I help you

Right. At Midnight PST - so sometime on the 20th in most parts of the world (or is that even more confusing!)

We'll be lenient, but not within more than a 24 hour window.
