The Pirate, Kjartan Harđarson (3D)

Title: The Pirate
Name: Kjartan Harđarson
Country: Iceland
Software: Arnold, Maya, Mudbox, Photoshop, ZBrush

3D portrait from an old concept that I changed up a bit. On this project I was focused on learning to work with the Arnold Renderer and see how far I could get with the shaders and lights in Maya.

I used an old character model I did some time ago.
All models were modeled in Maya, sculpted and detailed in ZBrush. The textures were made with a combination of ZBrush, Photoshop and Mudbox.

I'd love some critiques on the outcome.

Image rendered in Arnold.

I like it, I cant really get myself to say anything else much on it. Especially since Im not sure what you were going for. But, as a piece on its self I like it. He has a lot of character to him and you can read what personality he should have just by looking at him.

edit ---

Just noticed the neck area seems a bit flat. You should see what you can do to make it a bit more noticeable.
