Gollum, Hobbit, an unexpected journey _ Fan art, Hossein Diba (3D)

Title: Gollum, Hobbit, an unexpected journey _ Fan art
Name: Hossein Diba
Country: Iran
Software: 3ds max, BodyPaint, Photoshop, VRay, ZBrush

Hey guys, this is my recent personal work, Gollum _ Fan art, of course Hobbit version. I was really amazed by the facial expressions Weta digital had created for Gollum and nearly everything about visual effects in the movie was simply awesome. It has been a while since I've been trying to develop my skills in rendering, shading and specially in creating different facial expression so I choosed this lovely creature with those big blue eyes to work on. It was a really long process, about 4 month, and every second of it was fun. Lots of artists helped me in WIP forums to increase the quality, especially Lukas Hajka who helped me a lot during the process and I'm really thankful for that. Hope you guys enjoy watching it :)

Hey man,

Your model looks fantastic! Your studio lighting shots are stunning. I do think your posed shots with the background could use some tweaking. The background images don't really match the 3D, and its distracting from your model. Your character gets hit with a nice white light, but your environment is filled with dark, colored light. I know they did that in the movies, but they also used a really sharp colored rim light to help things blend.
