Background: Roxi was born from a scandal, Roxi’s father "Giovani" fell in love with a common woman in Valencia, and despite his families cries of outrage, he married her and divorced his noble wife who is the mother of his first born child "Donato" since he was madly in love with Roxi's mother "Elena".
Donato's mother "Anita" was in total shock and died from a heart attack. Roxi's grandfather could not bear to disown his son, so her father was allowed to stay within in the family. Roxi’s mother was beautiful enough for them to pretend that she was of noble birth.
However Elena was nice, gentle and sweet lady. She treated Donato as her own son since she feels guilty about his mother death, she even spoiled him more than her own daughter Roxi.
Roxi grew up in a household where appearances were everything. Not just looks, but how one acted around other nobles was key in her families power. As such, she grew up learning the art of deception and charm quite well. Since these things were important to the nobility, she became quite skilled in being able to read behind the smiles and polite words of others to find their true intentions.
Roxi and Donato became really close to each other, after Elena’s death (poor woman died from a severe pneumonia) Donato took responsibility of bringing up Roxi. Giovani was rather content with that since his son decided to help him, and tried to overcome death of his beloved wife by working all days and nights long.
When Roxi was about thirteen years of age, her father and her brother secretly often took her hunting, and taught her how to use a sword believing that it would be best if she learned swordplay. Due to being spoiled, she was allowed to do practically whatever she wanted as long as she did not shame the Monroy family. As such, she took up reading, putting her intellect on level with those of noblemen.
It was not until she turned sixteen that she found out about her father’s involvement with the "CrossFit Assassins". Feeling that she was old enough, he explained to her what he used to do when he disappeared on his business ventures. Roxi urged her father to train her in the art of assassination so she could lessen the burden he had. Though he was just as stubborn as she was, his softness for his daughter eventually broke him and thus he spoke to the other high ranking assassin’s about her recruitment. In the end, she was allowed to join as an apprentice after proving herself true to their cause and her awesome skills, thanks to her father training.
Roxi's father Giovani claimed that no other woman will be able to win his heart after Elena. However, fate decided it in a different way, 7 years after Elena’s death Giovani was introduced to a young daughter of another nobleman, "Chiarina Lacetto". She was charming and witty girl, as well as quite wise. Giovani lost his head in a moment of passion and soon enough there was a wedding. At the beginning both kids were quite on good terms with Chiarina (although she was just 3 years older than Donato was. She loved them back, after a year of marriage there was another child in the family – a boy, whom they named Dulce. Roxi loved to play with her younger brother, as well as Donato did.
Unfortunately, when Roxi was 19, her father was accused of political betrayal of the Spanish monarchy after an attempt to assassinate a member of the royal family that was organized by the CrossFit Assassins. Giovani was sentenced to death and hanged. Terrified Chiarina ended up in deep depression, while Donato had nothing else to do but to apply for working for the local government, he wanted to prove that his father was innocent.
Chiarina slowly started growing mad. As servants did not want to work for a crazy mistress from an outcast family, Roxi had nothing else but to take constant care of Dulce and look after the house. She had no free time at all. Meanwhile, her stepmother began hallucinating as she started seeing Donato as his father Giovani, the young man had to avoid her, as his stepmother tried her best to drag her “unreal dear husband” to bed.
He tried to bring Chiarina back to her senses, but she never listened. Poor woman thought that her husband somehow escaped trial, and now was hiding under his son’s name. After some time Donato moved to another room next to Roxi, hiding at her place at night in case if Chiarina started knocking on his door and trying to get in his room.
Blinded by madness and lust, Chiarina thought that her “husband” preferred his daughter instead of her; and so she wrote accusation note to the local government, blaming Donato in continuing what his father begun. So two years after the first tragedy, Roxi’s elder brother was hung as well. Poor girl did not know what to do, her family was ruined, all she had was her younger brother and her mad stepmother.
Her Father’s relatives did not want to help at all, ashamed by his deeds; Chiarina’s relatives agreed to give them a place to live. However, there was one condition, in order to pay off food and stay for Chiarina and Dulche, Roxi had to become a courtesan. Roxi didn't like that idea so she left and went to the CrossFit Assassins base., Roxi ended up in their base in Madrid. Thanks to the bureau’s archives she learnt more about her father job as an assassin, and that he was the master of Granada’s branch, he was accused and set up by some gangs, who needed to get rid of him.
After learning about it, Roxi decided on getting her revenge on the people who ruined her life (and, perhaps, retrieving Dulche, whom she still considers being her brother). Upon arrival, she started training under the CrossFit Assassins guidance so she can participate in their campaigns.
