Hey there,
really nice entries so far - i'm looking forward to see the final submissions!

So, i'm going to make a "Vintage-Future-Carmaggedon-Race Driver" - something like that..
His name is Cipus and he's a humanoid reptile (Biped).

I've already collected some references, drawn some rough sketches and built up a BaseMesh in Maya:

thanks for the comments guys!

I've been working on the upper body and I have decided to make the armor of leather instead of metal. In terms of color i think i would love to go with warm earth colours - maybe a brownish color for the leather-armor and a mixture of green-brown for the reptile-skin..
I also would like to present him in an environment, in the best case in front of his vehicle.
But now, "leg work" first!

nice update!

Looks cool except the three-finger-hand. Could be cool if he has a 4th underdeveloped finger, or something.

thx for your comment fantasymaster - i was a little busy with the rest of the sculpt, but the underdeveloped finger is a good point, i'll try to address that later.

I've made a little progress with the lower body and i've also laid out the UV's for all the pieces.
There's still some work to do on the details.. painting bump/normal maps as scratchmasks for Wear etc.

i think you started to add surface details too early. the basic shapes and volumes could be much more defined and sculpted out.
maybe try to invest a bit more time on the base before doing makrodetails

Nice progress. Looks a little flat in case of the silhouette, if you know what i mean. I would try to push some of the details more out.
