3D Artist (3ds Max) - Bournemouth - United Kingdom

This is a fantastic opportunity for a 3D Artist to join a world leader in the delivery of simulation and training solutions for Air Traffic Control operations. As a 3D Artist you will report directly to the Image Generator Product Manager.
You will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models to meet project deadlines and will collate data necessary to create the 3D models.

Company Information:
Micro Nav is a private company that was established in Bournemouth in 1988. Since that time the company has built an excellent reputation in the field of Air Traffic Control and aviation software simulation systems and solutions. Micro Nav has more than 50 blue chip customers in over 25 countries around the world. Micro Nav systems are used to train Air Traffic Controllers at some of the busiest airports in the world. The Company offices are located in Westbourne, just a few minutes walk from Bournemouth town centre.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creating 3D airport models using Micro Nav Ltd Fast Airport Building.
  • Modelling buildings, vehicles, aircraft and characters using Autodesk 3ds Max.
  • Texturing buildings, vehicles, aircraft and characters using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Importing buildings, vehicles, aircraft and characters into the Imagine image generator.
  • Maintaining a subversion library of 3D assets.
  • Testing and validating 3D airport models.
  • Collating data for 3D models from customers and other sources.
  • To comply with requirements of the company Quality Management System.

Technical Requirements
  • Proficient in Autodesk 3ds Max (2013 or later preferred).
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop (CS5 or later preferred).

Education and Experience:
Mandatory:
Relevant degree level qualification
Or 5 years minimum experience as a 3D Artist
Good time management and planning skills
Attention to detail
Desirable:
Experience of dealing with internal departments of mixed disciplines and personnel at all levels.
