Hiring: Game Design Lab Technician

Game Design Lab Technician



  • Junior Level network administration for Windows and MAC network environment. Software and hardware installation, troubleshooting and upgrade.
  • Assist students with any software/hardware issues that may arise.
  • Work in coordination with the front desk to ensure the smooth workflow.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Department Director.
  • Maintain guidelines set forth by the Academy of Art University.
  • Maintain a clean, functional and productive learning environment.
  • Protect equipment from theft or vandalism.
Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will be articulate, attentive.
  • Previous customer service experience a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Adobe CS4, Autodesk Maya, Unity3D or Unreal game engines.
  • Knowledge of the Window and MAC operating system.
  • 3D Modeling and/or scripting for Unity3D experience/interest a must.
  • Experience with video editing is a plus.
Shift hours: 4:30pm 1:30am
Must be flexible and willing to work evening and/or weekend shifts.

This is a part-time position, up to 40 hours/week and 37 weeks/yr. Work is available only when school is in session: 15 weeks in the fall semester, 15 weeks in the spring semester, and 7 weeks in the summer semester.


Pay rate: $15/hour


Benefits:

This position includes the following benefits: one tuition free undergraduate class per semester, paid sick leave accrual, a limited health insurance plan, and a 401K plan after one year of service (pending completion of the required minimum hours of work)
