There won't be a user event. I've heard from my contact at AD that because the economy is still so-so and the fact that the user base is so huge since they have all the top 3 packages it'd be pretty impossible to cater to that many people.

Bummer I know.

I have been to every AGUA meeting since 1998.
This is sad.

They are moving a lot of the presentation stuff online to be able to cater to the people who can't attend directly. I love user events myself, but I understand where they are coming from.

To be able to give demos from all 3 packages and also to get a room to hold all those people would be hard. It'd be like a 4 hour event and many people wanting to get into the events would probably be left out since space would be limited. Just my thoughts on it.

ahh how I long for the good old days: kick ass tech/beta previews, killer schwag give aways, dayglo gogo dancers, never-ending open bars, mile-long buffet tables, chainsaw-wielding ice sculpturers, pyrotechnics, circus freaks, etc, etc.

I miss the old days of kick ass Autodesk/Alias|wavefront/Softimage SIGGRAPH usergroup/party events!!!

Oh man that is sad. Hopefully there will be enough other parties to drown my sorrows.

I have seen there live webcast last time, the online stuff is very limited. in some presentation they only stream audio, the video is restricted. so its better to attain it directly instead of going online if you want to see uninterrupted and full presentation.

HUGE bummer! Thanks for the heads up. My first Autodesk party was in LA in 2008 and I want more! Stupid economy.
