Red face Family trip in Okinawa Aquarium

The progress is slow as I am a little struggled in the facial structures. There would be a shark whale in the background and comments and critique are welcomed.

It's hard to tell what the end result should look like. Are they standing in front of an aquarium?

Painting is more than just replicating the values and colors of a photo, which is what you're doing. There should be other artistic considerations such as selective detail, deployment of various brushwork to convey different surface properties (fabric, skin, plastic, hair, etc), as well as variety of edges (from hard-edges all the way to very soft edges) to control where the viewers look first, as well as create a sense of dimensionality.

Thank you very much for your comments and suggestion!

It is a practice work so I started with the simple round brush to paint the base shades and structures. And I am trying to add some more textures and colors to the painting to make it more "artistic" when I am going further to details.

Here is an update i did last night
