Nuke roto brightness problem

Hey all,

I know nuke alright, but not amazing, so I try and use it as much as possible to get better at it and I have run into a snag.

I'm comping together some passes from maya and there are some spots that look ugly that I can only fix in nuke. So I am rotoing the ugly parts and replacing them with copies of the renders behind them for backplates and blending them together. It was working just fine for 5 of them and then suddenly they stopped working.

Not that they stopped cutting out, but that they started turning the backplate brighter in the areas that were rotoed out. I've tried everything that I can think of to fix the solution from replacing nodes and reording nodes to copying and pasting everything into a new nuke script. I just don't really know what else I can do to fix the issue. The only other thing I can think of is that it is some sort of bug of kind or something like that.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. It is greatly appreciated.

Seems like a premultiplication problem.
There are no men like me, only me
