How do you price yourself?

Anybody working freelance as an artist here? I'd really need education regarding pricing myself and my work. How do you price yourself? Let's say I am offering illustration or animation services, how much should I charge a client? Should I make a fixed amount? Or charge by hour of work?

I couldn't get this topic from school, seems like art schools don't provide entrepreneurship classes. :/ Can you help me find the right track for pricing? Any tips will be very helpful.

You're not the first to ask this and most likely not the last.
Hit Google up and search for"cgsociety freelance pricing" and you've got tips and suggestions from back 2004 till recent to spit through.
