Old books about scripting in MEL

Hello everyone! I've been searching for some books about MEL scripting language but i found only old books released nearly 8-10 years ago. Does it have sense to read them if i want to become tool developer for Maya?

Back in the days, I was using this book as my main reference:

But now, to be honest... Just forget about it and jump in directly to Python. This book will become your Bible:

I found this book to be pretty helpful.
Mel: Solutions for Production

It was pretty intimidating before I knew the basics, but after that, very helpful.
