file management, big EXR's, what does your studio do?

hi all

I've been working in animation on my own for a short while, and I would like to get an idea of how studios (big, small, etc) handle the amount of data that comes along with rendering out massive 32 bit EXR files and the like.

Do you have massive amounts of storage, and keep them around at full resolution/bit depth? Do you discard these files once the project is finished? Some other strategy?

thanks very much for some insight on this

It seems like you're trying to render an animation in exr, which would be creating HDRI's and can be edited more than tiffs or other standards of images (it is 32 bit after all), you should have more control over what you'd like to tweak in terms of exposure. The downside to this is that exr's (let's face it) are huge, so I wouldn't recommend rendering a whole animation in it.
