A better character modeler

I need some to help me become a better character modeler, someone who is very good at character modeling, it's not for a class.

In order to become a skilled character artist, you need to train in figurative art, the software and computer are merely tools that are used to transfer your knowledge in digital form.

and a ton more can be found on the web.

EDIT: One of the best character tutorial you can find, worth every cent:

I definitely agree with the figure art part. You can never learn enough anatomy, once you know the rules of anatomy you know how to stretch and manipulate them to your desires. A good site for you to reference for some basic anatomy & muscle structure is http://www.posemaniacs.com/. I think you would also find it useful that their models are capable of you fully rotating them and getting to them from different angles. Mess around and find different poses, sketch out the muscle flow and such, then when you have the tools in front of you, the "art part" will come much easier.
