Uneven polygon density

Hi guys!

I have a problem with my first sculpt in Zbrush: some areas of the mesh are more polygon dense than others. In particular the lips and the ears, the rest is fine. The problem is that I'm starting to sculpt details and I can't do it on that polygon distribution.

I'm at subdivision 7 already. I've tried to Qremesh with and without guides, with and without masks on lips and ears, but the result is that my mesh become covered with "holes" or areas which look like bitten!

Do you guys have any suggestion on how to fix this?

I just wanted to update the situation - I did a bit of research and I've followed a wonderful tutorial from Nebular over at Zbrushcentral.

Basically I've used Decimation Master + masking in order to reduce the immense number of polygon and I've masked the area with lower density.

Then I went to Qremesh.

I did the process a couple of times and this is the result, I'm posting two before/after pictures:

- 1st subdivision level wireframes:

- Max subdivision levels details (before was 7, after 3)

I still have a couple of issues but it's my first job and I'm quite happy of having found the tutorial!
