Question Quick topology question (Maya)

Can anyone tell me why when I go into smooth shaded mode, the middle vertex has it's coinciding edges curving into a V-like shape? I'm not quite sure if it's a big deal but I would like to try to solve it. Thanks!

Hey man,

Check to see if you've got a gap in your mesh, or maybe you inadvertently creased that point.
