Zbrush Maya workflow

I Hired a zbrush artist to model and texture a character and then deliver it as a ready to rig model in Maya. The model has normal maps bump maps and textures but the model geometry is too dense to animate with.

What is the proper/typical workflow here?
Should I do a "reduce"

Cool, BUT....

Hi there,

I saw your thread but really need the export settings for ZBrush (exporting into Maya in VDM/32-bit). Been messing around with this problem for long now and got stuck.

Iīve found out how to set up the shader in Maya, but still Mental Ray donīt render the UVīs correctly... Any hints?


Would be awesome!
